Nabin is a literary forum of Cotton College. Having completed 22 glorious years in 2014, the forum is a platform for those in love with literature. To commemorate its 20th foundation day, the forum organized an art and craft exhibition on 21st September, 2012 and Kabi Sanimilan on 22nd September at State Art Gallery, Guwahati. Sahitya Akademi Yuva award winner Kamal Kumar Tanti was felicitated by the forum in a get-together organized on 28th May, 2013. The forum also felicitated best singers, actors and examination rank holders in different occasions during 2012 to 2014. ‘Barshaswapna’, a drama written by Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, was staged by forum members on 4th May, 2014 at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati. A book of poems entitled Nabinr Kabita was published on the occasion of 21st Foundation day of Cotton College in 2013.

The forum members have won accolades for their literary work. Ex-member of the forum Juri Baruah, won the literary prize in Chandraprasad Saikia short story competition organized by leading Assamese monthly magazine Goriyoshi in 2012 and Best Literary Award in 2012. Her edited ‘Cottonian’ won the best prize from Asom Prakashan Parisahd in 2013. Kamal Kumar Tanti won the Sahitya Akademi Award for his poetry collection Marangburu Amar Pita in 2012 and Bijay Shankar Barman for his collection of poems Ashokastami in 2013.

Ex-member Sanjib Pol Deka won the Munin Borkotoki award for his short story collection Eaipine Ki Ase in 2012 and Dibyajyoti Bora for his collection of poems Tuponi in 2014. Kushal Dutta received a special award from Bangia Sahitya Sanmelan. Deepjyoti Deka won various national level quiz competitions including a gold medal in Gauhati University Youth Festival in 2012.
